DTLSN aims to bring together the public, private and third sector to tackle the digital skills divide in Wales. To achieve this DTLSN is supported by Cardiff Metropolitan University
Technocamps, based at Swansea University, is renowned for its expertise in computer science education and outreach programs. By working with Technocamps, the DTLSN gains access to a wealth of knowledge, experience, and networks in the field of technology education. Through this partnership, the DTLSN has benefited from Technocamps' established programs, resources, and connections within the education sector in Wales. Collaborative efforts included designing and delivering digital skills training initiatives, organising outreach events, and fostering research collaborations to better understand and address the digital skills divide in Wales.
DTLSN has been funded by different regional UKSPF (United Kingdom Shared Prosperity Fund) programs. Partnering with local authorities such as Neath Port Talbot, Powys, Vale of Glamorgan, and Blaenau Gwent in funding the Digital Technology Learning Support Network (DTLSN) highlights a collaborative approach to addressing the digital skills gap at a regional level within Wales. Working closely with local authorities provides DTLSN with insights into the specific needs and challenges faced by communities within each region. Local authorities have a deep understanding of the socioeconomic landscape, educational priorities, and workforce requirements. Leveraging their expertise and networks enables DTLSN to tailor its initiatives to better meet the needs of the local population.
